Discounts 4 Disabled

For more detailed information about this project please visit:

Discounts 4 Disabled (D4D) works with businesses and service providers to arrange discounts for disabled individuals similar to those offered to students and senior citizens. Discounts 4 Disabled seeks to create partnerships and networks that help secure discounted rates, improve access to services, and make life a little easier for those living with disabilities.

Programs & Project Details:

D4D advocates for disabled individuals by helping arrange for discounts from restaurants, retailers, grocery stores, etc. for those living with disabilities. From large national chains to small “Mom & Pop” stores, very few establishments offer discounts for disabled individuals. Persons on Federal disability typically live on a fixed income of less than $950 per month despite being confined to a wheelchair or living with severe disabilities that may prevent them from earning a living wage. D4D works to secure commitments from businesses and service providers to offer discounts for disabled individuals similar to those provided to students and senior citizens. D4D programs are focused for the time being on individuals receiving Federal disability insurance (SSI) and assists businesses with creating databases to verify that individuals receiving discounts are qualified.
